A Family Tree: God's Benefit Plan

As we look ahead to 2017 we are reminded that we have access to all the vast resources of God. He's open to us in so many ways. Having just celebrated the mystery of the incarnation we live in this time of God's abundant blessing and grace as we await the GRAND FINALE. Join us on Sunday morning at 9:30am as we learn more about God's benefit plan.

A Family Tree: Do Not Be Afraid

The Angel Gabriel tells Joseph, "Do Not Be Afraid!" Really?! C'mon Gabriel, give Joseph a break. Why wouldn't he be afraid? How was he going raise the Son of God? What were people going to say? How would he tell his parents? In a lot of ways there were a few thousand reasons for Joseph and there are a few thousand reasons for us to be afraid. How are we going to pay for it all? Why all the violence in the world? What will the scan show? And in the midst of all our fears, God reminds us that His name is Emmanuel which means "God is with us." Join us on Christmas morning at 9:30am in the Chapel as we worship Emmanuel.

A Family Tree: Otherwise Unknown

A footnote from the genealogy of Jesus notes "The persons from Abuid to Jacob are otherwise unknown." That’s it. Otherwise Unknown. That’s all we know about Jesus' Grandpa Joseph and his great Grandpa Matthan. They just find their names in a list of other names in just one spot in the Bible. Join us on Sunday morning at 9:30am as we reflect on faithfulness and fruitfulness of being "otherwise unknown."

A Family Tree: Not A Chip Off Of The Old Block

Have you heard the expression “chip off the old block?” As in, describing the similarities that sons and daughters have their parents? Was Jesus then a "chip off the old block" of his distant relative Manasseh? You’re thinking to yourself – of course not. Manasseh was a dirty rotten scoundrel. But wait, we’re reminded in the genealogy of Jesus that in fact, Manasseh is part of the 42 generations of Jesus’ great grandpas. Manasseh is related to Jesus. Join us on Sunday morning at 9:30am as we explore one of the most broken of branches in Jesus' family tree.

A Family Tree: Jesus' Greatest Grandpa

Maybe more than anything else, we simply need to be reminded once again that He is Emmanuel - God with us. Join us on Sunday morning at 9:30am as well rest in that Gospel truth and peer into Jesus' family tree and shake the oldest and greatest branch - that of Father Abraham.
