Sunday Worship

Advent is a season of waiting.  It’s a season of anticipation, of patience and of presence.  Advent calls us to join in the waiting with Mary and Joseph waiting for their God-Son to be born.  Advent calls us to join in the waiting with the people of God who had been waiting for centuries for the coming of their Messiah.  And Advent also calls us to join in the waiting with Christian sisters and brothers around the world waiting for the second Advent, when this infant King comes again and forever restores this wounded land. Sometimes waiting is a wonderful thing, full of excitement and anticipation.  We love tracking our packages and can’t wait until the mail arrives every day.  This is fun waiting.  But then there’s another kind of waiting that isn’t so fun.  Some waiting is hard.  Waiting is faith-testing.  There is almost a weight to waiting.  Join us at 9:30am on Sunday mornings throughout the season of Advent as we lift the weight of waiting.
